Here are some photos from I love K-art as sneak peak to Kim Hyun Joong's Heat Collection Book that features his 2012 Asian Fan Meeting Tour! ^^ Another photobook that I'd love to add to my collection :) From the cover, to the inside pages, this book brings back a lot of memories of the FM when I was fortunate enough to be able to see HJ in Hong Kong! ^^... Of course, that's all thanks to some really generous Henecians^^...the mini concert, the High Fives, the onstage games and other highlights of the concert were captured in the glossy pages  of the photobook. :) Love the exclusive pictures, and interview of HJ...There are even some behind the scenes features, a tutorial on Hyun Joong's dance steps, plus a free poster similar to the FM's promotional poster last year. 
I'd really love to have this collection book ^^ ...Certified Henecia must-have and a great additionto my Kim Hyun Joong Collection :)

At the venue, many girls were dressed in Yukata which brought a chaste breeze. Hyun Joong seemed to have fun, different atmosphere from an ordinary live stage.

With his hectic schedule due to a new drama "City Conquest" in which he takes the male-lead, it is hard to expect his live performance again within this year.

Kim Hyun Joong, a very busy guy with Asia Fan Meeting Tour (visits to five countries starting from Singapore in May), and drama shooting of City Conqueest in Japan, gave a donation of 50 mil won to the charity institution in Korea when he learned that his fan club donated 10 mil won. He gave his donation on August 3 to the same institution his fan club did.

There is no stopping Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong as he once again adds another milestone to his musical career after becoming the first K-pop artist to sell over 200,000 album copies in Japan this year.

According to Oricon’s latest aggregated sales totals, Kim Hyun Joong’s second Japanese album, “Heat”, has already sold a total of 200,580 copies, beating out the combined sales total of other iconic K-pop artists such as Super Junior and TVXQ. Super Junior’s “Opera” has sold about 184,000 copies since going on sale on May 9, while singing duo TVXQ’s single “Android” moved about 175,000 editions since its release on July 11. 

Kim Hyun Joong’s second single album was released in July 4 this year where it placed first on the Oricon daily singles chart, first on the weekly singles chart and third for the monthly singles chart. 

Selling over 200,000 copies, Kim Hyun Joong’s “Heat” achieved the feat of the best selling Japanese single by a Korean artist so far this year. 

An official with the "HEAT" singer's Japanese agency said in a press release Tuesday that Kim has solidified himself as one of the leading artists in the current music scene even with the fierce competition. 

Making his debut as a member of K-pop group SS501 in 2005, Kim expanded his career into acting after starring as one of the main characters in KBS' teenage series "Boys Over Flowers" in 2009. 

Kim will soon mark his return to the small screen as the male lead in the upcoming drama "City Conquest," which will hit airwaves later this year. #

일본 오리콘 차트에 따르면 지난 7월 발매한 김현중의 두 번째 싱글 앨범 ‘히트(HEAT)’는 현재까지 총 20만 580장의 판매고를 기록한 것으로 알려졌다. 이로써 김현중은 2012년 일본에서 발매된 싱글 앨범 부문에서 K-POP 솔로, 그룹 통틀어 처음으로 20만장 돌파를 달성하는 영광을 안았다.

지난 7월 4일 ‘히트(HEAT)’로 발매 첫날 13만 8천장의 판매고를 기록하며 오리콘 일간차트 1위에 등극하며 화려한 스타트를 끊었던 김현중은 이후 오리콘 주간차트 1위와 월간 차트 3위에 오르는 등 현지의 뜨거운 인기를 과시했으며 앨범 발매 두 달 만에 20만장 판매 기록을 세우는 기염을 토한 것.

이 같은 기록은 지난 5월 발매된 슈퍼주니어의 싱글 ‘오페라’의 판매고 약 18만 4천장, 7월 발매된 동방신기의 싱글 ‘안드로이드’의 약 17만 5천장을 뛰어넘는 것으로, 현재 일본에서 활동하는 많은 한국 가수들과 견주어 봤을 때 일본에서의 독보적인 위상을 가늠케 한다.

김현중의 일본 음반 관계자는 “현재 김현중은 자국 가수들 간 경쟁이 치열한 일본 음반 시장에서 ‘김현중표 웰메이드 앨범’을 통해 한국 가수로서 상위권에 당당히 이름을 올리며 케이팝(K-POP) 선두주자다운 면모를 과시, 현지 음반 관계자들도 놀랄 만한 성적을 계속해서 거두고 있다”라고 전했다.

또한 “이번 ‘히트’의 성공은 일반적인 홍보에 치중하기 보다는 팬들과 직접 만나고 소통하는 게릴라 콘서트, 팬미팅 등 다양한 방식의 프로모션을 펼치고, 일본 국민 뮤지션 비즈(B’z)와 함께 작업을 하는 등 일반적인 케이팝 가수들의 앨범 활동과는 차별화 된 전략을 통해 기존 팬들 뿐만 아니라 일본 대중의 귀를 사로잡은 것이 큰 몫을 했다고 보여진다” 라고 밝혔다.

한편, 드라마 ‘도시정벌’을 브라운관 컴백작으로 확정 지은 김현중은 지난 7월 일본 로케를 시작으로 촬영에 들어갔으며, 전작의 부드러운 이미지를 벗고 남성미 넘치는 모습으로 변신을 예고하며 기대를 모으고 있다.

올 상반기 일본에서 가장 크게 활약했던 신인은 누굴까. 남성 그룹 SS501 출신의 김현중을 꼽는 기자들이 많았다. 김현중은 지난 1월 일본 데뷔 싱글 ‘키스키스 럭키가이’를 발매해 12만 2000여 장의 판매고를 올렸다. 지난달 4일 발표한 싱글 앨범 ‘히트’도 첫 주에만 18만 장을 팔아치워 오리콘 싱글 주간 차트 1위에 올랐다. 공연 실황을 담은 DVD도 차트를 휩쓸었다. 빌보드 재팬에서도 김현중의 활약은 돋보였다. 빌보드 재팬의 야마구치(Yamaguchi) 씨와 히라가(Hiraga) 씨는 “김현중이 SS501 시절부터 쌓아온 인기에 힘입어 솔로 가수로서도 성공적으로 데뷔했다”고 평했다.

세계에서 두 번째로 큰 일본 시장을 한국가수는 어떻게 뚫을 수 있었던 것일까. 빌보드재팬 전문가들은 일본어 버전, 완성도 높은 퍼포먼스, 향수를 자극하는 멜로디 등을 꼽았다. 야마구치 씨는 “한국에서 검증을 받은 인기 곡을 일본어로 번역해서 냈던 것이 주효했다”고 분석했다. 히라가 씨는 “귀를 맴돌게 만드는 매력이 케이팝의 장점이다.1980~1990년대 제이팝 스타일과 유사해 현지인에게 친근함을 준다. 남녀가수 외모 또한 일본인이 좋아할만한 아름다움을 갖고 있다”고 설명했다. 또 다른 관계자는 “타이틀곡의 완성도가 높은 데다 세계 시장을 겨냥해 제작한 뮤직비디오가 인상적이다. 속이 훤히 뚫릴 만큼 대단한 스케일”이라고 추켜세웠다. 스기오카 씨는 매니지먼트사의 체계적 시스템도 양질의 가수를 키웠다고 밝혔다. “주소비자가 어떤 장르의 음악을 좋아하는지 정확히 파악하고 있다. 가수를 발굴해내는 시스템이 날로 향상되고 있는 것 같다”고 말했다.

일본가수와 비교해 제작 비용이 저렴한 케이팝 가수의 음반이 높은 순위를 차지하게 됐다는 시각도 내놓았다. 야마구치 씨는 “레코드사가 한국가수의 CD 가격을 낮춰 현지인이 쉽게 살 수 있도록 만들었다. 한국가수가 비교적 저렴한 가격의 CD를 내며 시장을 확장해가면서 일본가수가 성장할 기회가 점차 사라지는 것 같다”라고 의견을 밝혔다.

그렇다면 케이팝이 설 자리를 넓혀가기 위해서는 무엇을 보완해야 할까. 히라가 씨는 “유사한 성격의 아티스트가 많다. 개성을 살려야 할 것”이라고 지적했다. 또한 “지속적으로 이슈를 만드는 스타급 가수가 적다. 영향력 있는 가수가 나와야 한다”라고 덧붙였다. 스기오카 씨는 “한국가수는 활동 이외의 측면(사생활 노출이나 소문 등)이 주목받을 때가 많다. 좋은 이미지를 쌓아가야 할 것”이라고 짚었다.
